OUR HISTORY

Aphrodite Chocolates was founded in 1997 by Janet & Arthur Vine. Janet, the creative brains of the outfit, believed wholeheartedly that she could create her own luxury handmade chocolates, in her own kitchen, from little more than the finest cacao and the best of local produce, and that the end result would be far superior to anything produced on a factory conveyor belt. She was right.

With a large dose of enthusiasm, and plenty of creative flair, Janet’s vision became reality with the creation of Aphrodite Chocolates.

Now, 25 years later, our chocolates, still handmade with only the finest cacao and the best of natural ingredients, are sold worldwide and are recognised as being among the finest of luxury handmade chocolates.

Janet has passed her passion for chocolate along to her daughter, Lia who has worked alongside her mother for many years.

OUR ETHOS

The Aphrodite ethos is, and has always been, to handmake our luxury chocolates with as little mechanical intervention as humanly possible, using the highest quality courveture, and only the most natural of ingredients.

We use no additional sugars, oils or additives in our luxury handmade chocolates, and our vision remains the same today as it did in 1997 – to share our love and passion for amazing chocolates with as many as possible!
