Chateau Les Chappelles 2001 and Handmade Chocolates
Chateau
Les Chapelles is an excellent Claret of 2001 vintage, traditionally vinified in very small
quantities from three grape varieties, Merlot, Carbernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. This fine
wine is produced by artisan winemaker Christian Durand at his family vineyard, Chateau Yveline, from
vines grown on just 4 hectares of the vineyard lying under the village of Chappelles, with a
particularly rich mixture of soils and a wonderful exposure.
Tasting notes:
A sumptuously classy Claret of intense aspect, a full body, complex tannins and rich fruit flavours
with a long, velvety finish. Robust and rich on the senses, it's a wine that's more than able
to look after itself and complement the richness and complex subtleties of our handmade chocolates
perfectly.
